Today I'm finally bringing you a review of the "new" Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. I know this has been out for quite some time now and since everyone seems to love this concealer, I had a hard time getting my hands on it. But then one lucky day, I saw it was back in stock (just one concealer in my colour) and I grabbed it right away, so here I am now - giving you my thoughts on the UD Naked Skin concealer.
Packaging: The packaging gets 5 stars from me. I like the rose gold packaging it comes in and the concealer tube itself is classic and sturdy. No glass bottle so chances you break it are quite low. The tube has a blue, purpleish ring around it as well as the top of the applicator just like the Benefit They're Real mascara has. I used to think it was silver, but it's actually not.
Applicator: It's a doe foot applicator which I honestly miss. I have been using the MAC Pro Longwear concealer for half a year now and I must say I wish it had a doe foot applicator instead of a pump (and no glass bottle). As you can see on the pictures below, the applicator has a flat side to lay down the product, but it's not your standard doe foot applicator because the other side of it has a flat side as well. So you get product out on both sides which makes it easy to use - one side for one eye, turn it around, other side for the other eye and it's the perfect amount to cover under eye circles. Genius idea if you ask me.
Coverage: The name suggests that it's a weightless concealer you won't feel on your skin but give you complete, full coverage. And I have to agree. I have heavy dark circles, like when I say heavy I totally mean it, and no concealer ever managed to fully get rid of them, not even my Pro Longwear but the UD Naked Skin concealer did a much better job. So if you're looking for a good coverage concealer, this one might be the one for you.
Performance: I already mentioned it performs great when it comes down to coverage, and when it comes to creasing, I haven't noticed any either. I use the Naked Skin under my eyes as well as around my nose and on spots - no creasing under the eyes. I'm not sure what would happen if you didn't set it with a powder, but if you do set it, it will not crease. Trust me on this one. Concealers tend to crease on me a lot but neither the UD Naked Skin nor the MAC Pro Longwear do if I set them with a transparent powder right away. The only thing I do not like about the Naked Skin is that it's quite drying. I do tend to have dry eyelids and undereyes anyway but just like the NYX HD concealer dries out my undereye area, this one does too. I use a heavy eye cream at night (Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado) and the area seems to be so moisturized in the mornings, but as soon as I put on the concealer, it's dry as hell.
Colour Selection: The colour selection is great, there are 8 shades to choose from and they are all either neutral or warm, so there is definitely going to be a shade right for you. In comparison (picture below) I show you my MAC Pro Longwear in NW15 and Urban Decay's Naked Skin in Fair Neutral. Both are the lightest shades you can get but as you can see, MAC's NW15 is quite a bit darker than the Fair Neutral shade with the Naked Skin concealer, so if MAC's NW or NC15 shades have always been to dark for you, the UD Naked Skin might be worth checking out.
Summary: I personally think this is a great concealer, especially for girls with oily eye area or dark circles and spots they want to cover since the coverage is great and it is quite matte. The colour is not the perfect shade for me, but since I still prefer MAC's Pro Longwear concealer over the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer, I will not be purchasing it in a shade darker. If you have dry skin I would rather check out the Pro Longwear concealer by MAC or if you don't need heavy coverage, try Select Moisturecover or Mineralize concealer from MAC.
