Hello beauties!
I am back with a new blogpost and this time I have a little review of the Laura Mercier Matte Baked Radiance Powder (what a mouthfull) in Highlight #1.
Packaging: The packaging is absolutely beautiful, it looks quite sleek and expensive in my opinion. The only thing I really dislike about it is, that it's extremely bulky and definitely not a good travel item since it takes up quite a lot of space. A lot of people dislike Laura Mercier packaging but I think it looks nice.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is really nice if you swatch it with your fingers, I have to say that when you apply it with a fan brush (mine is from Zoeva), it does not really go on the brush very well. I might have to get another fan brush because I am not very impressed with Zoeva's to see if it works better with a different bristle brush.
Formula: It feels really smooth and buttery when you touch it with your fingers but as you can see from my packaging inside, it is quite powdery at the same time. It does not look powdery on the face though, it just has quite a bit of fallout which could be due to the baked formula it has. The name would suggest that it is a matte highlight but it's not. Is has a nice sheen to it, nothing glittery at all.
Performance: The reason I love it so much is because it's a very settle highlight. If you use it on it's own, it will give you just a hint of shine on your cheekbones which is perfect for every day use or people just getting into highlighting. The way I love to use it is over Benefit's Watt's Up Highlighter. It's a stick highlight so it has a bit more tackyness to it, which means if you put a powder highlight on top, it will make it grab onto the creamy highlight you put on first and make it pop even more (plus it will last a lot longer).
Summary: Even though this was quite an expensive highlighter for me, I am so glad I got it. It's the perfect highlighter for every day. If you are used to theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer or Soft & Gentle by MAC - this is a completely different world. It's way more subtle and honestly gives a way better finish on the skin, looks more natural than any of the other ones. Amazing!
I really hope you enjoyed reading today's post. See you next time!
