Hello beauties!
Since winter is slowly coming around, our skin is needing a bit more hydration than over the warmer months, and so do our lips. We all know the feeling of going out on a snowy winter day and coming home with lips that feel horribly dry and sometimes even hurt.
It's already been really cold here in Austria so my lips have needed loads of love already, so I decided to give you this extra post for the week!

I spent way too much money on lip balms and chapsticks over the last couple of years and none of them really worked magic on my lips. They either dried my lips out even worse, didn't do anything or would just make my lips depending on the product.
Lately, I managed to find a few lip balms that I absolutely love and swear by now. And this is what this post is for. I want to show you my top lip balms that will hydrate your lips, you're going to think it's magic.
NUXE Reve de Miel
This is the newest addition to my little collection of lip balms and probably my favourite out of all of them. The consistency of it is very different and at first I didn't think I'd like it. It has more of a silky feel to it on the lips. It's not sticky in any way, it feels so smooth and buttery on the lips. It's not one of these super shiny lip balms, it has like a satin finish I would say.
The main ingredients are honey and different kinds of oil like sunflower oil. It's made out of 78% natural ingredients.
The only thing I dislike is the grapefruit in it because for some reason grapefruit lip balms make my tongue tingle if I get it in my mouth. I used a bee's wax chapstick once with grapefruit and I couldn't use it because it kept making my mouth feel weird and tingly. I didn't know what it was until I got the NUXE lip balm which gave me the same weird feeling. Now I know it has grapefruit in it as well which just seems to cause that for me. Luckily, it is not as strong with the NUXE lip balm than it was with the other one. Also, I wish it would come in a squeezy tube rather than a pot because it's not the most hygienic, but since the consistency is not that sticky, I don't feel too gross sticking my finger in there. It actually feels really nice.
Other than that I absolutely love it and it keeps my lips very nice and hydrated. I use it before I go to bed to keep my lips moisturized while sleeping, as well as during the day when I feel like they are getting a bit dry.
Elizabeth Arden 8-Hour Cream Lip Balm
If you watch any beauty guru on Youtube, you will have heard about the Elizabeth Arden 8-Hour Cream. There is different products in the range like a moisturizer, a hand and foot cream and, of course, a lip balm. I know several people use the hand cream as a moisturizer for their lips as well but I didn't really want to put hand cream on my lips so since I saw there is a special lip balm in the range, I decided to try that instead.
I love that it comes in a little squeezy tube which is much more hygienic than putting your finger in a little pot all the time. It's quite a thick consistency, it's quite hard to squeeze out of the tube and you have to work a little for it to spread all over your lips since it is a thicker consistency but it's worth it. It makes your lip look incredibly shiny and plump, which is another bonus.
Elizabeth Arden products are not the cheapest out there, which is why I was putting off purchasing anything from the 8-Hour range for such a long time but I finally splurged on it and I don't regret it at all. I even ordered a second tube the same day the first order arrived at my doorstep.
It smells incredible. I think it might be a bit of a rose scent but I'm not too sure. It does have a SPF of 20, which I don't really care for, but if you do, then you should know it does contain SPF. It also contains 8 different vitamins, shea butter, castor oil, petrolatum.
This one does feel a bit sticky on the lips but I honestly don't mind sticky lip balms as long as they do something for my dry lips.
My favourite thing to do is actually to put a little layer of NUXE Reve de Miel balm on my lips and then the Elizabeth Arden one on top. It's like double hydration over night and my lips feel so amazing the next morning.
EOS Lip Balm
I know these are all over the internet and you either love them or you hate them. These were actually the first lip balms I found that did something good for my lips. I absolutely love the packaging, the EOS lip balms just look too cute and you're honestly good with just one of them but I have like 4 different scents because they're just really cute to collect.
Besides looking too cute to be real, they smell amazing and also taste amazing. Yes, taste. I love the taste of these, I'd like to just take a big bite and eat it.. but that'd probably be a little gross.
I have only managed to go through 2 lip balms in my entire life. And one of them was an EOS lip balm. That's how much I love them.
Labello Lip Butter
I am usually not a fan of Labello and their chapsticks, I only really like the standard chapstick without a scent/colour and the Med Protection SPF (which by the way is the other lip balm that I finished).. BUT - the lip butters are amazing!
First of all, the scent is absolutely incredible. My favourite one is the raspberry one, it smells so so good. I could literally sit there for hours just smelling that lip butter. I also really like the blueberry scent and the shea butter. I know there's coconut as well, as well as an unscented one which I'm not a huge fan of since I don't like coconut.. and why get an unscented one when the others smell so amazing?!
I used to use this all the time, constantly, every single night a thick layer and my lips were feeling so incredible the next morning. I could really tell a difference if I forgot to apply it one night. You do have to be a little careful though, because they do have a little colour to them as well so if you put on too much, it's going to look all white and weird on your lips, so apply just a little layer if you want to go out with it and it will leave just a nice little hint of colour on your lips. If you put too much, then it will just look like white paste on your lips. Not cute.
I do find that these are sticky and I don't like touching them at all, they come in a pot so are supposed to put your fingers in it but since they are so sticky, I will always just rub my lips in the pot. I know that's not very hygienic either, but it works fine for me.
Vaseline
This is not really a traditional "lip balm", but I do use Vaseline on my lips sometimes. It can be used for many different things, I find it's just a staple to have at least one of them in your household.
What I also like using Vaseline for, is making a lip scrub. I have not bought a single lip scrub in my entire life, just because you can make your own with Vaseline and that's so affordable and cheap. You just get a little pot, fill it with Vaseline and put in brown sugar (you can also use regular sugar if that's all you have, it honestly works fine as well) in until it's mostly sugar, just sticking together through the Vaseline (if you know what I mean). Then you just get a bit out on your finger and rub it onto your lips. After that, you can either lick it off since it is just sugar really, or you wash it off with a bit of water. It works so amazing and takes barely any time to make.
I hope this was helpful to some of you!
Let's keep our lips nice and hydrated over the coming winter months!

I would say my favourite is Strawberry! What's yours? My least favourite so far was watermelon, I don't really like the artificial smell of watermelon at all
